Fall 2020 – Two Min Sessions 1h 15 minutes each Tuesday Part I. Part II.


This training workshop addresses the importance of using a planned curriculum as a teaching process. The activities and interactions with the learning objective will support the early educator in the quest to use curriculum planning when working with young children. This workshop uses the question and inquiry methods to engage the attendee in reflection, review, planning and application of skills needed to become competent curriculum builders. Whole group, small group and lectures will be used as training formats during this session. Hands-on materials, videos, PowerPoints and Creative Worksheets will be used as learning aids.

Objective To review what we know about curriculum and to define curriculum as an effective method for early childhood instruction.

Goals:

  • To Define curriculum and explain the importance of using a curriculum framework to plan learning objectives for young children.
  • To create a curriculum outline to use as a professional guidance in the early learning classroom.
  • To identify the factors that support the structure of intentional curriculum as part of their teaching process.
