This course is an exclusive 120 hours CDA prep candidate training experience. The modules here will be a total of 120 hours with the focus on child development, child planning, development domains, teaching formats, theory, and best practices. This course is designed to assist the Child Development Associate Candidate to meet the training requirement 120 hours child development course work. The CDA is a nationally recognized credential awarded to persons who demonstrate competence in caring for children by completing the CDA assessment process.

This course will focus on the eight credential topics and the thirteen functional areas needed to support the development of the nine competency statements and the creation of the candidate’s professional portfolio. The themes for the instructional sessions are in alignment with the CDA functional areas: Safe, Healthily, Leading Environments, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management, and Professionalism. This course CDA will meet the required 120 hours of training for you to apply for your CDA credential. A certificate will be generated at the completion of this course.

 

Goals of accomplishment:

To understand the role of a childcare professional and how this role relates to regulations, mandates, professional guidelines, and best practices of an established profession.

To understand their role in creating and maintaining a safe, healthy learning environment. To review their knowledge about early childhood practices in the area of Health, Safety, and Nutrition and how their viewpoints impact their ability to promote health and safety practices as part of their commitment to working with children.

To understand how children learn and grow. To discuss principles of human development and the importance of using a developmental framework as the foundation for working in the early childhood profession.

 

Objectives

As the result of the training, interactions and reflective reading the participants will be able to establish and maintain learning environments that are safe, healthy and centered around the wellbeing of all members in the childcare setting,

As the result of the training, interactions, assignments, and reflective reading responses participants will be able to build learning experiences, consider methods for creating age-appropriate learning environments, use a research-based perspective to put developmental theories into best practices.

As a result of this training, the participants will examine one’s role in maintaining a professional commitment and contribution to the early childcare profession. They will examine the strategies for creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and well-run purposeful program that is responsive to children, families, and others, in alignment with the best practice guidelines.
