CDA Prep 101.2 Child Theory and Developmental Caregiving

This course is part II of the CDA prep candidate training series. The modules here will be a total of 70 hours with the focus on child development, child planning, development domains, teaching formats, theory, and best practices. This course is designed to assist the Child Development Associate Candidate to meet the training requirement 70 hours of child development course work.

The CDA is a nationally recognized credential awarded to persons who demonstrate competence in caring for children by completing the CDA assessment process. This course will focus on the eight credential topics and the thirteen functional areas needed to support the development of the nine competency statements and the creation of the candidate’s professional portfolio.

The themes for the instructional sessions are in alignment with the CDA functional areas: Safe, Healthily, Leading Environments, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management, and Professionalism. This course CDA prep 102 along with course CDA prep 101 will fulfill the required 120 hours of training. A certificate will be generated at the completion of this course.
