Professional Development Specialist: Jennifer Edwards-Saul

This performance management workshop overviews outdoor playtime, and the benefits of extending learning in environments for young children. Learning Centers, Activities, Nature and Learning, and Peer Group Play will be discussed. The topics of playtime, outdoor play, more nature, and social-emotional regulation will be explored. This course provides 3.0 hours of adult learning and performance management.

Cost: $95.00 Online Zoom Access  series of three  1 hour sessions (3 hours total) 

Objective To review what is known about curriculum planning in early education settings. Discuss early childhood play routines and the importance of planning interactions for young children. To review methods of thinking, planning, and monitoring play and learning using intentional approaches for school readiness.

Goals:

Discuss early childhood outdoor routines and the importance of planning interactions for young children.

• Explain skills set used within curriculum models to reach early learning outcomes.
• Be able to use a developmental approach to explain what more outdoor time is, and how this learning is essential for young children.
• List themes, activities, schedules, and routines that assist children with reaching learning objectives, during outdoor playtime
