CDA 50 hours Preparatory Part I.

This course is designed to assist the Child Development Associate Candidate to meet the training requirement by providing 50 hours of child development course work. The CDA is a nationally recognized credential awarded to persons who demonstrate competence in caring for children by completing the CDA assessment process.

This course will focus on the eight credential topics and the thirteen functional areas needed to support the development of the nine competency statements and creation of the candidate’s professional portfolio. The themes for the instructional sessions are in alignment with the CDA functional areas: Safe, Healthily, Leading Environments, Physical, Cognitive, Communication, Creative, Self, Social, Guidance, Families, Program Management, and Professionalism.
