This performance management workshop overviews the curriculum and planning activities. Scheduled, Routines and Interactions will be discussed. Activities using themes and learning objectives for school readiness will be used to review pedagogical practices in the framework of thinking, planning, and monitoring learning experiences. This course provides 3.0 hours of adult learning and performance management.

Objective To review what is known about curriculum planning in early education settings. Discuss early childhood play routines and the importance of planning interactions for young children. To review methods of thinking, planning, and monitoring play and learning using intentional approaches for school readiness.

Goals:

The workshop assists early childcare educators with information for professionals on how to:

  • Explain skillsets used within curriculum models to reach early learning outcomes.
  • Be able to use and explain the curriculum and play plans
  • List themes, activities, schedules, and routines to organize play-based learning.
  • Report their method for engaging children in school readiness activities.
  • Create lesson plans and activities centered around children’s learning through play.
